Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm Strategy Guide
Welcome to the future Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm strategy guide. I will be putting up information from
Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm on this guide as it becomes available.
In particular, you can expect for information on new units, how these units might effect competitive games, new
Heart of the Swarm strategies, and a campaign guide (once the campaign comes out, of course).
Right now, this page is still a placeholder, although I will be updating our "overview" page with basic
information as it becomes available. Be sure to check back regularly for updates as I will be adding information
regularly.
For now, here is the table of contents of this Heart of the Swarm Guide:

Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm Guide - About HoTS
If you are unfamiliar with Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm, it is the new expansion pack for Starcraft 2 slated
to come out in the Spring of 2012. This date of course is subject to change but right now there is no indicator
that it will be delayed.
I do suspect that even if Heart of the Swarm is ready to go, it's release date will be highly dependent upon
Diablo 3. Diablo 3 is supposed to be launched before Heart of the Swarm, and they will not want these two games to
launch too closely together.
In short, you can expect Heart of the Swarm to come out in Spring 2012, as long as Diablo 3 comes out by
November or December or 2012. They do not want those two games to release too closely to each other, as Diablo 3
has so much hype surrounding it that it could easily overwhelm Heart of the Swarm (since it is just an expansion
pack and not a main release).
If you were not an original Starcraft player, note that the expansion of Starcraft, Brood War, included as much
single-player content as the original. You can expect a full campaign (for Zerg this time), likely to be the same
size as the campaign in Starcraft II.
Also, for competitive online play, you can expect the introduction of 1-2 units for each race. For example,
Brood War introduced multiple new units for each race as well as new upgrades for previously existing units.
It is also likely that Zerg will get some campaign-only units, much like players were able to use in the
campaign mode of Starcraft 2.
Be sure to check this page regularly as I will be updating it with content as more Heart of the Swarm
information becomes available.
